Hitch-hiking through Balkans part VI (Athens and Crete /Greece)

And we are finally in Athens! With best friend Ewa!

So now we are in Athens in Birdy's place. He aleready show us his roof and how to spy his neighbours  The best thing - we can see Acropol from here as well!!

Orange tree are everywhere on the street, even next to our house.

Thats Athens.

Athens and Likavidos hill.

And that's happen at every step in this city.

We are going to Crete now! All nigh on this ferry...

We've reached Crete at 6am

And we stoped in Janis house - Birdy's friend in very small village

His house was made for chill out...

But after long rest we've been transported to the beach as you can see :)

Way to the beach at no touristic side of Crete

No people at all except us. Thats what we love! Explore more, explore different!

Actually we have not much to do except laying at the beach, sandy or rocky, swimming or jumping between the waves. thats seems to be very easy, but believe me we are much more tired after this kind of days than after walking with heavy bags or hitch-hiking in 40 degrease

A bit rocky, a bit windy, but jumping above strong waves gave us big pleasure and much fun  I finished that game with bruise at my hip when a huge wave hit me to the hard ground. respect water!

So lets start another game  driving scooter! Can I do it??! in rental place they says no because I don't have driving license. But come on malakas! It's Greece! Everything is possible!

70km/h - isn't to fast in first day? im scared

And finnaly we get to very small cafe hidden beetwen houses - high in montains. amazing place, two small tables outside at the little balcony with wiev you can see here. four older raisins talking in greek, no english there. Birdy comunicate with them and order some drinks. coffe was fine but tea!!! Karolina had one of them! ble! not horrible - disgusting! very black tea in glass, no tea bag inside, five spoons of sugar. very nice place, but water tasted the best

Every chick needs a beachy picture

This is Crete  Its 260 km from east to west, is 60 km at its widest point, and narrows to as little as 12 km close to Ierapetra - little town we took ferry from to desert island where we spend two days  they called it Donkey island!! io io!

And here we are! Chrissi island! - Donkey island. That was the best part of Greece! people coming here just for one day, they take a ferry in the morning and afteronoon they coming back to Creta. There is no restaurants here, no shops, no electricity and no runing water. No one is alowed to sleep there, to live or camp. So we are doing it illegal  But not only we, there are some of other people camping. But still so quiet and calm We just love it!

This is the first side of the island. Its more rocky here and no much wind, so its very very hot!

We got into bushes, only sand and little trees. Its 5minutes walk from one side of this island to another. Thats the smalest island I ever been! You can walk around island every where you want. So many little paths in those bushes. Almost no one after 5pm when the last ferry go back to Creta. PoPoPo!!

And this is other side - sandy and windy! The best one!

And thats our place to sleep. We found it ready Some one was here before and left it. They definitly come back soon. Perfect place to sleep in so hot island!

We are going back to Athens!
